WIH to face Holy Cross in opening round of Hockey East Tournament – The Boston Hockey Blog

The Boston University women’s hockey team will host the Holy Cross Crusaders on Wednesday evening for the opening round of the Hockey East Tournament.

The Crusaders (7-23-3, 4-20-3 HE) hold the regular season edge over the Terriers (14-17-3, 12-14-1 HE) with two wins in the teams’ weekend series in late January to BU’s single win in mid-December. The weekend series marked Holy Cross’s first win since Nov. 28.

The Crusaders haven’t won since the weekend sweep.

The Boston University women’s ice hockey team got back into the win column with a pair of away victories this weekend. The Terriers beat the University of Vermont 4-1 on Friday and then traveled to Merrimack College on Saturday, winning 4-0 in North Andover.

The Boston University women’s ice hockey team fell to the Maine Black Bears 3-1 on Friday night after a slow start.

The Terriers (12-15-3, 10-12-1 Hockey East) fell back into old habits, scoring only one goal after a 3-0 shutout of Boston College in their previous matchup.

Boston University’s women’s ice hockey team couldn’t complete the comeback against the defending Beanpot Champions, the No. 14 Northeastern Huskies, falling 2-1 in overtime at TD Garden in the Beanpot Championship game.
